To an objective outsider, Louisoix's salvation could be considered cruel in its own way. Though to say or even think as much of one who gave his life for the sake of others was reprehensible.

After suffering the shock of being ripped out of time and thrust from a losing battle to a recovering Gridania, Celinie had taken but a few days to acclimate to her return. Realizing she'd been forgotten by all was pain enough, but the horror of not knowing what became of her family was even worse. Nothing else mattered beyond this, and yet when she returned to the mine, it was collapsed and none knew what became of those who might have dwelt within. It was simply too much to bear, to be stripped of everything and everyone she had ever known, ever loved. All of them, gone. And she? Not even a glimmer of a thought to those who remained.

Still, she had held fast to hope. Rather than nurse rage for her new circumstances, or wallowing in despair and self-pity, Celinie was... resigned. This was her life now. A quiet life. Lonely, to be sure, but one that could still have purpose. Thus she'd begun to apply herself intently to research. Better to find what permitted the Calamity to happen and prevent it repeating, than to buckle to her sadness. Louisoix had preserved her life for some reason, so let it be for this.

The resources available to the Path of the Twelve- ah no, the Scions of the Seventh Dawn... they changed their name and combined efforts with the Archons and others- were scant. What little information they had available, Minfilia offered up to her. She alone recognized Celinie; it was a balm for the Elezen's heavy heart.

Her dainty fingers touched the spines of the books housed in the storage area of the Waking Sands. Each title doused her scholastic fires, drop by drop, as it was clear that the best known resource they'd had was now five years perished. There had to be something here. Anything. Or... something on how to return lost memories.
